I Wasn't Kidding

It's been awhile since my last post. When I said I'm busy, boy I really meant it. Things haven't calmed down. In fact, things are only going to be getting busier. Mike will be deploying soon and we have a lot of preparing to do. Not to mention I have been elected the Chairman for Board of Christian Education. Add to this the normal responsibilities of home life and you can see I am a very busy woman. I have to admit it though, I love it.

But right now I am enjoying a little peace and quiet. The kids have been at my sister's since Tuesday and we don't pick them up until Friday evening. It's been oddly quiet, lol. I have been able to enjoy my monthly Woman's Fellowship meeting and weekly Bible study class that I attend. Usually I have a child in tow but this time I just got to relax and not worry about what the kid is up too. Tonight Mike and I will be attending the Maundy Thursday service also without kids. But this is all just the quiet before the storm.

This weekend will prove to be very chaotic, organized chaos but chaos all the same. I have the responsibility of organizing and producing the Easter breakfast at our church. All the kids will be helping, but with a large crowd and kids in the mix who knows how things will turn out! And this is addition to the normal Easter activities we have going on at home.

So needless to say things won't be slowing down for who knows how long.

More added to an already hectic schedule

So I had a few surprises at my church on Sunday. First off I was overwhelmly asked to lead the bible study class that is held on Sunday mornings. This group had lost its teacher and I guess I was the person they wanted. I was stunned at being asked but the group was very enthusiastic about wanting me as their teacher so of course I said yes. I just find it funny that I will be leading woman who are all 30-60 years my senior, lol.

Also, that same day I was elected to be Chairman of the Board of Christian Education for our church. Basically this means I'm the person in charge for this. I'm not sure what that all intales but I'm the person they wanted for the job so I must have what the church is looking for.

I was not expecting all this and I suddenly find myself even busier but I love it. I love our church and very happy that I am able to be of service.

Sooooo Busy

Looking at my calendar I can see that the next couple of months are going to be very exciting and very busy. This month the kids have several activities, some very fun fields trips and a birthday party to go to. This month there is even a trip that is guaranteed to be super fun but I can't say at the moment since the kids read my blog. More on that later when I can let the cat out of the bag.

March will be just as busy. Rose and Eddie have an anniversary and we'll be watching their boys. My little sister's second baby is due and we are all anxiously awaiting that little one's arrival. This is all mingled in with Girl/Cub Scout activities, church activities, school activities and normal life.

April won't slow down either. I have classes to take for Girl Scout leader training, there is spring break and Claudia will be attending Girl Scout camp, something she has never done before.  Also, April hold Easter and this is a super busy time at our church so I know I'll have plenty to do with that as well.

I'm sure the future months hold lots of activities as well but I refuse to look that far ahead, lol.

Girl Scouts

So now I am a Girl Scout, lol. Yes, at the good ol' age of 30 I have joined the Girl Scouts. BUT I do have reasons...other than incredible access to those Thin Mints. My two girls joined the Girl Scouts yesturday. After seeing that there are only two leaders for a troop of 31 girls I offered to help (damn me, I have some crazy germ that makes me volunteer for everything, lol). So they signed me up and in April I will be taking Leadership classes to become an official Girl Scout Leader. So in the mean time I get to help my girls sell cookies and try my best not to eat the entire cookie stash, lol.
